Downtown Cycle Track Pilot Project Infographic | 2017
Working with the City of Calgary in my 2nd year of university, we were tasked with creating an infographic on an issue regarding the upcoming Downtown Cycle Track Pilot Project. Using various data sources from the city, I decided to tackle the public perception of safety on the cycle tracks. This infographic covers the reasons for public concern, and the likeliness to use the tracks based on usual transport methods. Research was carried out entirely using the City of Calgary’s census data as a primary source alongside 311 requests. This data was then compiled into a system map to create a narrative. Mine focused on why Calgarians chose to utilize specific forms of transportation and their perceptions of cycling compared to more traditional commute methods.
The final product was presented at the Calgary Municipal Building on April 19, 2017.
